"It’s important to push yourself further than you think you can go each and every day —
as that is what separates the good from the great.” Kerri Strug
Acrobatic gymnastics is a competitive partner sport combining the strength, flexibility and technical precision of gymnastics with the grace and musicality of dance as well as the trust and camaraderie of a dedicated partnership. Each child experiences success and individual accomplishments with each new skill learned. We encourage a learning environment that is fun, challenging, safe and progressive. Classes can be from one or two hours per week. Two classes weekly are recommended for children to improve their motor skills. As students progress, they can be moved to more advanced classes that will enhance their skills even further. All Acrobatic classes require partners or trios, male or female.
Typical Class:
In every class there is a 10-15 minute stretch and warm-up that begins each class. It helps students to develop flexibility and strength while safely preparing for gymnastics (sometimes serving as an emotional adjustment to class). Please make every effort to arrive on time. Following this the classes will be split learning skills and stunts with their assigned partners. Classes also offer a social opportunity for your child with children their own age. Each class is designed to optimize your child’s physical, social, psychological, and emotional development.
Advancement:
Here at Boundless we have a wide variety of classes and levels. A child’s level is determined by one of our qualified staff members. Many students in our gymnastics programs remain in the same level for 2 to 3 years as gymnastics is a very demanding sport physically and mentally. If your child has had gymnastics experience before, please contact our office to set up a 15 minute evaluation to see which level he or she would be starting at in our program.
Safety:
Recreational gymnastics, with proper instruction, is a safe sport. The fundamentals and basics in gymnastics are extremely important for safety and progression. Repetition is the key to obtaining these skills safely. When the body is trained to habitually perform a basic skill, other skills can be added safely. Boundless Staff attend several clinics and workshops a year to ensure we continue safe and progressive gymnastics.
Trial Classes:
Trial classes are only permitted during the first class of each month or on make up days as to not disrupt the flow of the class. For a trial, please speak with our office to check availability and reserve your spot.
Attire:
A leotard is the preferred attire for girls at novice and beginner; it is required for intermediate and advanced. Students should remove all jewelry and tie back shoulder length hair.
Make-ups:
Each child is permitted one make-up per month. Please schedule make-up classes online.
